Why I Practice
Through yoga, I have healed, strengthened, and opened my body while at the same time learning to become more present, centered, calm and clear in my intentions. And perhaps most significantly, through experiencing moments of stillness in my mind, which yoga so naturally cultivates, I have discovered a deeper connection with my higher self and with my own very personal sense of the divine; this quality of the practice, more than any other, is what has really changed my life. These are just a few of the reasons why I have, to a large degree, dedicated my life to my practice of yoga.
Why I Teach
I teach yoga because it is a powerful and incredibly efficient tool, not only for optimizing physical health and well-being, but also for cultivating inner peace, tapping into one's full and always expanding potential, and experiencing the many profound and unexpected effects of calming and quieting the mind and nervous system. Yoga can be a spiritual practice if we choose it to be, though this is a very personal element of the practice; in my teaching I attempt to create a space wherein all these elements of the practice weave effortlessly together to support the practitioner in every way, for the benefit of the planet and all beings.
