Hatha Yoga

Hatha yoga is what many people think of when they hear the word "yoga." It is the physical practice of yoga, including the poses (called asanas) that resemble stretching or bending your body at unnatural angles. Hatha yoga is actually one of eight limbs of yoga that includes meditation, breathing, living righteously, and being mindful. Hatha also comes in many forms, and new styles are being developed all the time.

Yoga is a means to spiritual enlightenment that is grounded in Indian philosophy but does not belong to any one religious or spiritual path. Hatha yoga prepares your body for the path of spirituality. It is where most Westerners begin their yoga practices, but it is incomplete without the other seven limbs.
