Yoga Certification

There are no federal standards for yoga teacher certification. As a way to provide the highest teaching knowledge and skill to teacher trainees, YogaWorks has devised its own certification system. Experienced YogaWorks instructors recognize new teachers who are mature, creative, thorough and compassionate and who offer appropriate help to students, creating well-organized classes.

The YogaWorks certification process begins with a 200-hour teacher training program, and teachers earn diplomas upon successful completion of the course. New teachers can then begin to refine their teaching skills at gyms and small yoga studios as well as with private clients and through YogaWorks exchange programs. New teachers are also enrolled in the Yoga Alliance and receive a listing on its website.

Yoga Certification the YogaWorks Way

The next step for yoga certification is the 300-hour professional program. If you are accepted and successfully complete the course, you can apply these hours toward the 500-hour Yoga Alliance certification course and eventually to the YogaWorks certification. The 300 and 500-hour courses build on what you have learned so far, helping you to become a well-rounded, highly skilled teacher.

After refining your yoga teaching skills through the 500-hour course, you can take the written certification exam that is offered once a year in New York or twice a year in Los Angeles. If you pass, you will be granted yoga certification through the YogaWorks process and be on your way to new career opportunities. You may even choose to teach the teacher training yourself one day.
