Opening your hips and hamstrings takes time, but if you do this well rounded beginner practice regularly it will happen! Recommended props: 2 blocks, 2 blankets, 1 strap

Today is day 2 of my hip opening practice :-) I love Melanie... My goal is to do this class 3x/week for the rest of this month then move on to a more "difficult" practice to help open my hips even further.

I deal with a lot of physical aliments (in my opinion due to tight hammies and weak hip flexors). I have not been on my mat in years so today is day of my "rebirth". This class is very effective in a short amount of time. I plan to wake up and get this practice on at least 3x/week.

Melanie is probably my favorite instructor thus far in my YogaWorks experience. Her voice is calming and puts me at ease when I don't feel so great about not being able to completely do the pose. I love the modifications she gives as well. As for this video, I can't wait to add this to my weekly practice. My hamstrings are my problem area and are always tight, so most ever pose was helpful!! (:

It's been a good solid 2 months, almost 3 of me not doing any type of yoga practice and boy have I felt the difference in my hamstrings and hips. This is such a great practice to get back into the swing of things. Thank you again Meanie for your wonderful instructions

This is a great practice to do in the morning. I got some heat and I got quite a bit of stretches to wake up my muscles and to relieve tension all over my body. Melanie is a wonderful teacher

I really enjoy all the direction this instructor gives (something that I was not able to find in other online instructors) so that I am able to properly do the poses instead of just trying to go deeper or be more flexible. I feel like I am actually protecting my body. This particular class went at a comfortable pace but I wish we spent more time doing the poses a few more times each.

Pretty intense! She gives really good instructions on which muscles to engage though, especially for side angle and triangle pose.

I like this teacher a lot but Ive watched about 6 to 8 different videos from her now and I feel its all quite similar. Its very good to have the continuity but Id like a little more variety to be honest.
