With the Yogaworks 200-Hour Teacher Training, you’ll take your yoga practice to a whole new level and gain a deeper understanding of the many layers in this transformational training.

Our comprehensive yoga teacher training curriculum has been carefully refined over 30 years to offer a fully interactive, dynamic experience. It is a mindful blend of Eastern and Western yoga teachings, paired with practical modern applications. Empowered Sequencing
Yoga teacher training should never be about memorizing a rigid sequence. Our program framework honors traditional lineage while encouraging fluidity and freedom of expression. You will learn skillful Vinyasa sequencing built on a foundation of artful cueing, advanced Asana study, an understanding of anatomy, and the philosophical underpinnings of yoga. All our graduates know how to use creative, well-rounded sequencing to inspire others.

Training Schedule & Tuition
This 10-week training blends on-demand classes and course content with live, interactive sessions for real-time learning. Plus, there's an optional in-person weekend for you to connect face-to-face with fellow participants and trainers!

- Bi-weekly except for the first two weekends
- Holiday exceptions: No training on President’s Day weekend, Easter weekend, Memorial Day weekend, or July 4th weekend

- Saturday and Sunday from 9 am PST to 3 pm PST
- Wednesday (Philosophy) from 5:30 pm PST to 7:30 pm PST
- This session follows the preceding Saturday/Sunday

Frequently Asked Questions
We are a Vinyasa-based school, focusing on a method that balances precise instruction, detailed alignment, breath, and fluid movement. Classes can be either moderately or vigorously paced and are carefully themed to deepen the students’ experience of Yoga. A flow of Sun Salutations and postures is skillfully sequenced, and modifications and props are used to individualize the practice for each student.
At YogaWorks, we have been leading yoga teacher training in this clear and effective style of practice for over 30 years and have trained some of the world’s most celebrated Yogis. During your yoga instructor certification course, you will study how to:

Our 200-hour YTT is ideal for those who want to delve deeper into the study of yoga and improve their own practice. It’s also great for students who simply want to have a transformational experience and to be a part of our thriving Yoga Community.
Yoga Alliance is an organization that was started in 1999 as a way to create nationally-recognized standards for yoga teachers and yoga teacher training in the U.S. More and more yoga studios across the country are requiring their teachers to register with the Yoga Alliance, either at the 200-hour YTT or 500-hour YTT level. All YogaWorks trainings have a 5-Star Yoga Alliance rating based on past participant reviews.
Yoga Alliance registration is not a legal requirement for teaching yoga. Currently, there are no legal certification requirements to be a yoga teacher, though it is recommended.
Yes! The YogaWorks Yoga Teacher Training is globally recognized, which is why we have over 10,000 graduates.
Our students come from all over the U.S. and all over the world to take our training and to bring the knowledge back home to their own communities. However, it is always prudent to check in your country if there are any specific yoga instructor certification requirements.
Yes! With the successful completion of all the requirements of the program, you will receive your Letter of Completion, Diploma, and yoga instructor certification.
You may also register with the Yoga Alliance (www.yogaalliance.org) at the RYT-200 level (Registered Yoga Teacher 200). Graduates of the 200-hour program usually begin teaching in small studios, gyms, or with private clientele (friends and family). Many new teachers decide to continue their Yoga Teacher Training education and participate in our 300-hour training program as a way to further solidify their skills, knowledge, and personal style as a yoga instructor.
The YogaWorks 300-hour YTT offers a curriculum that builds on the material presented in our initial 200-Hour training. It also includes a five-month apprenticeship with a senior teacher whom trainees assist weekly and meet with monthly to gain valuable in-class experience and one-on-one attention. This training is thorough, professional training for becoming a highly skilled yoga teacher. It rounds out and solidifies a teacher’s complete education.
Yes, there will be a final exam which is a combination of written material and practicum teaching.
The required weekends are entirely virtual however there is an optional (and highly encouraged) in-person weekend from June 6-8 in Los Angeles, CA. Travel and lodging expenses are not included in the tuition fee.
YogaWorks manuals, access to the YogaWorks app for the duration of the training plus access to the recordings of the training sessions for a limited period.
Approximately 60% of the content will take place in real-time with the remaining 40% accomplished through on-demand, self-paced training including class participation and tutorials.

Participants can generally miss up to two full weeks (about 24 hours), but we strongly recommend being there for the first weekend, as it covers essential info and sets the tone for the program.
Don’t worry—if you miss a session, all classes are recorded and must be watched within 7 days. Be sure to catch up on any missed weekends before jumping back into the live sessions, so plan ahead to stay on track!
Alternatively, you can also complete a private make-up session with a trainer (please note this is an additional cost, paid directly to the trainer). A three-hour private is equivalent to one missed weekend.
