This practice leads to a posture known as Kurmasana. It is a well-rounded practice that emphasizes shoulder and hip opening, while lengthening the posterior body to help achieve this deep forward bend. The routine includes plenty of core work and some backbending to ensure balance. You will need the following props: 2 blocks and a strap.
